It occurred to me in the Spring of 2010 that almost every gig I’d attended in the past few months had included a cover of a song written by Bob Dylan. These covers weren’t just being performed by musicians and performers who’d been around when the Dylan phenomenon started to emerge but by performers of different generations who were approaching the music from a different perspective.

This isn’t the first compilation of interpretations of songs by Bob Dylan and it won’t be the last, but hopefully as Dylan celebrates his 70th birthday it goes some way to demonstrate his diverse, wide ranging and cross generational influence amongst the performers working throughout the British folk and roots music scene and beyond. The songs will live forever.

All the performers on this compilation donated their services free of charge and all the proceeds from the album are being donated to OXFAM (uk)Ltd

Special thanks to Phil Snell at Limbo Creatives for help with the mastering and putting everything together, to Bryan Ledgard for the art-work and to all the performers, musicians, producers, recording labels and studios who donated their services and time to this project.
